Brad Thor with Laura Ingraham

Laura Ingraham hosted Representative Brad Thor, author of "Hidden Order".  .

Thor said that while on vacation on Jekyll Island where the Federal Reserve was first conceived of.  He noted the Federal Reserve is not a part of the government.  He said it takes him about eight months to complete a book, has done one a year and has completed thirteen books.  He storyboards his books with guide posts but not a strict guideline.  

Thor said the Federal Reserve sets the US monetary policy who is accountable to no one and who has been a failure.  He said Fed Chairman could be considered the most powerful person in the US or world.  He mused if a foreign country could blackmail the Fed.  

Thor is a limited government person.  He noted that US citizens liberties are being eroded thanks to terrorism - the very people who get our liberties in prosecution.  He's for whistle blowers but not twenty comethings such as Bradley Manning or Edward Snowden.  

Thor said he's a Tea Party guy, but that the organization should change its name due to bad branding.  He and Ingraham agree that the emphasis should be on the middle class Americans and lifting them up.  

 

Rachel Campos Duffy on "The Laura ingraham Show"

Laura Ingraham hosted Rachel Campos Duffy. 

Campos Duffy said she's been reporting on the sexualization of children for a long time.  She's less worried about the transgender issue than the rise in unmarriageable men which penalizes poor and minority women.  Ingraham pointed to the political aspect to children's programming which goes hand in hand with the push going on in the schools.  She said it's not about tolerance, but about celebrating the politically correct viewpoint.  

Campos Duffy said the Christian community needs to speak out about the negative outcomes of this all with men be demasculinized and women taking all the responsibility in the family.  She thinks women want real men who want to provide for their families.  

Ingraham blamed women for allowing this to happen.  Campos Duffy said there are so many boys without male role models in the home.  She assigns certain tasks to her children that are more gender appropriate.  She said she and her husband make a concerted effort to make sure their boys get a lot of dad time.  

Camille Paglia with Laura Ingraham

, Laura Ingraham hosted Camille Paglia, author of "Glittering Images".

Paglia said her book is for people who know nothing about art.  She has a religious attitude toward art and feels that snobbish artists in New York City have turned off the public with bizarre works. 

Paglia said bondage and S & M have suffused the culture topped by Harvard approving a bondage/sado-machochism club. She said this has made sex boring with the normal relationships between mena nd women have gone cold.  She said masculinity is only recognized negatively as oppressive.  Women have become high achievering and uninteresting to men.  She stated that romance is dead and that sex is a wasteland for young people.  She blames the overpriced college curriculum that gets translated to the work place.  She said it is spiritual emptiness with cynical snark dominating the culture with no respect for anything.  

Paglia said there is no sense of grandeur which is gone today.   She finds Tina Fey totally unfunny along with other comedians.

Bill O'Reilly, author of "Keep It Pithy" with Laura Ingraham

Laura Ingraham hosted Bill O'Reilly of Fox News, author of "Keep It Pithy".

O'Reilly commented on the White House hounding James Rosen's sources and asked if the White House is overdoing it as far as providing a chilling effect on journalism. He said it's complicated and that it has been a problem throughout the ages as to the free press versus the government.  

O'Reilly and Ingraham noted the negative relationship the White House has with Fox News.  O'Reilly pointed out that the AP has given extremely favorable treatment to President Obama versus Fox News.

O'Reilly opined that due to President Obama's chaotic background, he is an uber control freak with a tendency to overstep.  He also cited the 24/7 news cycle that puts out false information all the time.  He said Obama isn't a good manager.  

O'Reilly didn't want to write this new book which is a distillation of his philosophy.  He coaches his son't Little League team and enjoys scuba diving and collecting historical documents.

K Carl Smith with Laura Ingraham

Laura Ingraham hosted K Carl Smith, author of Frederick Douglass Republicans.

Ingraham and Smith commended Rand Paul for going to Howard University and Smith especially noted that commenting on Frederick Douglass is a good way for the GOP to reach African-Americans.  He said that the Democratic Party has co-opted the message and that the GOP needs to improve its counter education.

Nina Shea, Author of "Persecuted" on "The Laura Ingraham Show"

Laura Ingraham guest host Raymond Arroyo spoke to Nina Shea, author of "Persecuted".

Shea said the persecution of Christians as detailed in a recent Pew report is a result of radical Islamism and the number of Christians.

Shea said Christians in North Korea are sent to concentration camps and is the worst country for such activity.  She said the death penalty or long prison terms given in Iran for prostylatizing.  She also mentioned Pakistan and said that international pressure can ease these effects.  She cited speech codes that are used to implicate people, causing mob violence against the accused.  Anyone who defends Christians risks their lives.  

Shea feels the United States has been too quiet in responding to these outrages.  She thinks misguided political correctness causes leaders to shy away from condemnation and Arroyo stated it's a human rights issue.  Shea sees it the gravest issue of our time.   

Nicholas Carr, author of "The Shallows" with Laura Ingraham

Laura Ingraham hosted Nicholas Carr, author of "The Shallows".

Carr said our brains are very good at adapting to changes in our environment and thus they are adapting to technology as we seek new information.  He cautioned that the bombardment has caused people to not think deeply.  He said the touch screen now allows very young children to interact with screens.  He stated that moderate use is acceptable, but that children need an array of experiences and that individual children react to technology differently. He feels schools should be a refuge from the tech deluge. 

Carr was inspired to write his book due to the changes in himself from being immersed in gadgets.  He would put off giving children smartphones as long as possible.  

Bob Weidemer with Laura Ingraham

Laura Ingraham hosted Bob Weidemer, author of "Aftershock". 

Weidemer suggested people look back on Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke's uneven predictions on the economy before buying what he has to say.  He cautioned that massive money printing is fueling the economic recovery.  He said we are tripling our money supply which helps the economy initially.  He said inflation could take years for the US but said it could come faster.  He thinks David Stockman is correct in stating that the bank bailouts were a huge mistake and that we are creating two bubbles: the dollar and government debt. 

Weidemer said Paul Krugman isn't recognizing the magnitude of the borrowing the US has undertaken which is a big mistake.  

Weidemer is a conservative investor in gold with less volatility than stocks, some bonds and stocks.  

Fred Thompson with Laura Ingraham

Laura Ingraham hosted Fred Thompson, contributor to "Saving Justice".

Thompson who worked on the Watergate situation, spoke about Judge Bork's take on it all.  He talked about the Stennis compromise on the Nixon secret tapes that AG Archibald Cox were demanding and the White House was refusing to turn over to Cox.  Cox then slammed Nixon to the press while there were critical issues going on the world.  Cox's office was loaded with liberal assistants.  Ingraham commented on the changes in the media between then and now. 

Thompson stated that if President Obama's numbers keep going down, a grand bargain on the budget  is possible.   He said the Obama administration is political in their judgments rather than judicial.  

Thompson admires Senator Rand Paul's guts in the filibuster which was provoked by AG Eric Holder's incompetence and stalling in defining the limits of executive power in regard to citizens being targeted by drones without cause.  He said Holder does what he's told and has the proper contacts and demeanor to fend off critics most of the time.  

Thompson doesn't want the president emasculated in time of war and thus feels the guidelines must be transparent.  He noted that Judge Bork was all about the rule of law, not politics.  

Michael Savage with Laura Ingraham

Laura Ingraham hosted Michael Savage, author of "Time for War".

Savage said his new book opens with the crash of the Navy SEALS helicopter where so many SEALS were killed and never investigated after the killing of Osama bin Laden.  

Savage said he's turned off by the pomp and theatrics of the State of the Union.  He said Rubio is appealing, but is too green for the presidency.  He thought Dr. Ben Carson's speech to the National Prayer Breakfast showed him to have presidential timber.

Savage warned about China's chokehold due to their control of our debt.

Laura Ingraham on "Fox & Friends": Poor Treatment for Navy SEAL Who Killed Bin Lady, Dr. Benjamin Carson's National Prayer Breakfast Remarks

Laura Ingraham appeared on "Fox and Friends" on February 12th.  She spoke about the shabby treatment the assassin of Osama bin Laden is receiving in retirement from the military and on Dr. Benjamin Carson's remarks at the National Prayer Breakfast that garnered criticism from the elite media.  

Ingraham commented on the Navy SEAL who killed Osama bin Laden who is now getting little support for himself and his family in retirement and decried the dismal treatment veterans receive after putting their lives on the line for the nation.  Ingraham noted that benefits flow to celebrities and others who receive glory for questionable "achievements".

Ingraham commented on Dr. Benjamin Carson's remarks made at the National Prayer Breakfast that critiqued President Obama's policies.  She contrasted the approval celebrities get when they comment on political matters versus the opprobrium Carson received from the elite media.  

Jim Defelice, co-author with Chris Kyle of "American Sniper" with Laura Ingraham

Laura Ingraham hosted Jim Defelice, co-author of Chris Kyle's book "American Sniper".

Defelice said he is shocked by the murder of Chris Kyle and said he was a total Texan, to the point he took a plot of Texas sod when deployed to California so his newborns would have their first steps on Texas soil.  Kyle would take veterans and help them readjust to life post military service.  Ingraham commented that the man who shot Kyle had PTSD - one of the people he was trying to help.  

Al Roker with Laura Ingraham

Laura Ingraham hosted Al Roker, "Today Show" weatherman and author of "Never Goin' Back" . 

Roker said he always flags down presidents during the inauguration. 

Roker advised people not to think about a weight regimen as a diet, but as a lifestyle change that will be fought every day.  He said the gastric bypass worked for him, but wouldn't recommend it for others as it is dangerous and can be eaten through.  He's been thinner for five years, but has had some slip ups.  He's learned how to get back to his routine.  He has a standing treadmill desk.  

Roker advises people not to tell friends or relatives that they are fat. 

Dick Wolf with Laura Ingraham

Laura Ingraham hosted Dick Wolf, author of "The Intercept" and creator of the "Law and Order" franchise.

Wolf said his great ambition was to write the great American novel and said he's comfortable with thrillers.  He'd love to have it made into a movie or mini-series.  He described a miniseries about a terror attack on NYC just before 9/11 and the plugged was pulled on the series.  He has kept in touch with people connected with the project and contends that we are underestimating people who are willing to die for a cause.  He noted that replacements keep popping up for all the terrorists killed.  

Wolf said that he plans two more books with the character from "The Intercept".  

 

General Stanley McChrystal with Laura Ingraham

Laura Ingraham hosted General Stanley McChrystal, author of "My Share of the Task". 

McChrystal thanked Ingraham for her support of the troops.  

McChrystal emphasized the importance of trust in the military and said it takes time for it to build between the military and the civilian leadership.  He said the message and tone of the "Rolling Stone" article surprised him and was inaccurate, but took responsibility.  

McChrystal said he's biased toward Afghanistan and that it could easily slide back to the Taliban and al-Qaeda.  He added that that country has been through years of war.  He thinks they are worried that the US will pull out and leave them adrift and unprotected.  Ingraham said that the country will always have the possibility of sliding back.  McChrystal restated that he has concern about some level of support be there.  

McChrystal said he saw so many women perform well in the military and that it is important to make sure the standards are consistently and carefully.
