Laura ngraham hosted Dr. Mike Bell of the CDC on super bugs created by antibiotic overuse.
Bell said we need to have our doctors' advice on how to use antibiotics. He spoke of infections that have arisen due to overuse. He pointed to sensitive populations such as cancer patients who are vulnerable to infections of all sorts. Ingraham spoke of infections contracted in hospitals. Bell said there are special chek lists for medical personnel to avoid the spread of infections.
Bell said he's worried about tuberculosis forms that are untreatable and Ingraham noted this comes in from immigrants. He said with global travel the whole global ecosystem is churned. Bell said we are stuck with each other and need to have certain hygiene procedures. He says that people should be especially careful to wash hands in hospitals.
