Laura Ingraham hosted William "Sandy" Darity of Duke University and John Hinderaker of Powerline on reparations.
Darity woyld use the 40 acres and a mule equivalent as a basis for repoarations for slavery and Jim Crow mistreatment post-slavery. He spoke of ARC: acknolegement, reparations and closure. He said it would be about $400,000 per African-American in various forms. He said his new book From Here to Equality as his detailed plan. He said President Obama wouldn't be eligible but that his wife and duaghters would be and that even wealthy African-Americans would receive reparations. He said census data from the 19th century could be used. He said that most of the time people do better when getting help. Ingraham noted the billions of dollars have been spent on welfare and other compensatory programs with little progress made and Darity said it was the way it has been done.
Hinderaker said the costs would be prohibitive under this proposal and that it would cost billions of dollars. deemed the program as racist and unfair. Darity replied that this would make things color fair. Ingraham said there are other groups that would have grounds for reparations based on mistreatment.
