Laura Ingraham hosted Joe Kashnow, Iraq vet and, amputee and stand up comedian.
Kashnow said he had been in Iraq for 6 months and was on a routine mission just north of Baghdad with an IED. He was the only one in the convoy injured which he was awake for throughout. The medical team tried to save his leg which he eventually lost within 18 months.
Kashnow said he had no stand up experience save to imitate comedians reoutines for friends. He at first hesitated and then was featured in a documentary "Comedy Warriors; Healing Through Humor" where injured vets were mentored by top drawer writers. They wrote their own material and then comedians gave them feedback. He's hoping to set up a tour of the vets' group. Ingraham pointed out that this humanizes and gets out the word about our military heroes.
