Laura Inbraham hosted Arthur C. Brooks.
Brooks said envy is a large cause of unhappiness. He noted people in the US don't feel envy if they feel there's a way to get ahead. He and Ingraham agreed that social media can aggravate envy. He contended that Obama has made poor people poorer which feeds people thinking there is less opportunity - and this fuels envy. Ingraham said people feel they have no voice or are demonized. He said picking winners and losers without merit is toxic. He said the US economy is torqued to the winnders and used the Federal Reserve printing up money, trade and stimulus spending is going to the top one percent. He said the GOP should not pound the social safety nets as they are victims of upper class welfare programs.
