Laura Ingraham hosted Professor Sheldon Krimsky of Tufts University on mitochondrial three person fertilization.
Krimsky said in 1997 this technique was used in infertility cases with women's eggs being infused with donor eggs materials with two women and one man's DNA. The FDA got involved due to the ethical issues. He said there has been a demaraction between individual who receives such treatment versus an egg and sperm being engineered with consequences that could come out through generations. Ingraham noted how this is related to the cloning issue and abortion due to poor prenatal diagnosis. He said there is no good evidence that this procedure is safe.
