Laura Ingraham hosted Bill Kristol.
Kristol said he would have preferred that President Obama defended the NSA program instead of trying to have it both ways and let Congress take it from there rather than be a leader. He and Ingraham pointed to Benghazi and other foreign policy politicizing as off putting.
Kristol said the GOP houldn't be allow the liberal media to take down party candidates such as Governor Chris Christie. Ingraham added that polls indicate most people don't care about the "Bridgegate" scandal and that people appreciate Christie's candor. Kristol said it's important that Christie should focus on being an effective governor.
Kristol referenced a Weekly Standard piece on fast track trade in expressing concern about giving President Obama too much executive discretion. Ingraham pointed out that big government is cited as a larger issue and immigration a smaller one by the public.
Kristol and Ingraham commented on our weakening foreign policy in the Midle East and on China.
