Laura Ingraham hosted Arthur Brooks.
Brooks is working on a book project at AEI on happiness so we can design our lives and policies on these principles. He said half of our happiness is genetic and we can work on the other half. Faith, family, friendships and work where one serves others are the key interior points one should focus on. He said women are better at making friends than men. He recommends expressing gratitude each day is helpful. He said our welfare culture makes us unhappy if we can't contribute in a meaningful manner.
