Laura Ingraham guest host Raymond Arroyo spoke with Tim Conway, author of What's So Funny?.
Conway described Don Knotts as one of one of the nicest men around. He spoke of how Carol Burnett invited him to be on her seminal comedy show and Arroyo praised the camaraderie and openness of the show. Arroyo praised the improvising done on the show by the performers.
Conway compared the show's spontanaity then versus the scripted nature of today's comedy shows. He said he's turning 80 years old and has done what he's wanted to do and now is doing some writing. He spoke warmly of Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme. He also talked of being a "regular" on "SongeBob Squarepants". He and Arroyo noted that it is hard to findquality fare on television today.
