Laura Ingraham hosted Pat Buchanan.
Buchanan said the budget merely slows the growth in spending and that this deal doesn't please conservatives who want to fight for more cuts. He predicts this won't help Paul Ryan who put together the budget deal with Senator Murray. He said the Tea Party base is concerned about deficits and fiscal discipline. Ingraham said the GOP has a great opportunity to explain conservative principles. Buchanan said they could even win the Senate and pick up House seats. Buchanan and Ingraham said the sequester was successful and that the GOP gave this up to an extent.
Buchanan and Ingraham said the polygamy case in Utah was predictable as the definition of marriage has been expanded to allow other forms beyond one man and one woman. Both said it could be reduced to whatever consenting people want to do is fine. Buchanan said this has led to the disintegration of our country. Ingraham added that this is also happening in our relations with countires such as China where we have empowered them and Buchanan said China has declared its own Monroe Doctrine. Ingraham questioned who would make the case for economic nationalism and fair trade.
