Laura Ingraham guest host Raymond Arroyo spoke with Bill Donohue of the Catholic League.
Donohue said the Catholic Church has been conservative on social issues and more liberal on economic and social justice issues. He said Pope Francis exhortation is mostly about the Catholic Church's need to evangelize with smallerer paragraphs being devoted to other issues.
Donohue noted that the Catholic Church isn't for socialism or communism's effects but that anything the church says about economics won't be paramount. He pointed out how much the economy has suffered under President Obama's statism policies.
Donohue was startled that the Obama administration wants to move the US embassy to the Vatican based on economic and security grounds and is suspicious about it all, given the administration's antipathy to the Vatican. He also said three Catholics went to Obama to pull back on the contraceptive mandate with Obamacare and that White House aide Valerie Jarrett nixed it. This was foolish, given that the Catholic bishops have supported Obamacare. He said the Supreme Court hasn't addressed the big issues that will be faced with the Hobby Lobby case. He contends the administration wants Catholic hospitals to perform abortions.
Donohue spoke of an ad on a billboard criticizing opponents to Christmas in society. He said a life size Nativity scene will go up in Central Park.
