Laura Ingraham hosted Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana.
Scalise criticized the lack of leadership in Washington, especially from President Obama. He said he can't support a debt ceiling deal with no strings attached as the debt keeps piling up. Ingraham said with some Republicans and all the Democrats, President Obama will get a win on this one as the country goes into deeper debt. Scalise stated that as Obamacare plays out, its unpopular aspects could bring changes.
Scalise and Ingraham predicted the debt ceiling deal from the Senate will pass both houses of Congress.
Ingraham pointed out that the Democrats will next push for immigration reform and that the Latino vote will be a key constituency for the Democrats. Scalise said he opposes comprehensive immigration reform and won't go to conference if it doesn't meet conservative goals. Ingraham predicted this could sink the Republican Party.
