Laura Ingraham hosted Dr. Ramin Oskoui.
Oskoui said Obamacare will hurt cancer patients even as we are at the point where we can individualize medical care. He said Medicare recommended only 3 PET scans for life. These are cost control measures by Obamacare to keep patients away from expert doctors. He said medicines are limited. He stated that doctors get bundled payments where the incentives are to use less effective medicines. Ingraham said fewer doctors are in networks and that most doctors are small business people.
Oskoui said no practicing physician is pro-Obamacare and don't expect many to enroll. Ingraham pointed out it will still hurt those not into Obamacare and Oskoui agreed. He noted that hospitals can charge more as they are favored providers over individual doctors.
Oskoui said the Affordable Care Act is about redistribution of wealth rather than improving patient care and financial risk goes to the providers. He spoke of the great lack of privacy there will be with the electronic medical records available to many government agencies and the poorly designed software throughout the system.
