Laura Ingraham hosted James Taranto of the Wall Street Journal.
Taranto said as a legal matter there should be no risk of default according to the 14th amendment, but the Treasury must have mechanisms in place to deal with the debt and its interest. He said Congress has put in for more spending than we are taking in and that the interest may be paid in full.
Ingraham stated that the government goes mostly on auto pilot and Taranto noted that President Obama has chosen to target areas that will cause the American people the most pain. He said such tactics don't work if you are the party in power.
Ingraham and Taranto commented on the incredibly poor construction of the Obamacare website as well as its economics. He's not sure how this will all go down or turn out. He said the upshot is the decline in the trust in government which is what the Tea Party is about.
