Wilensky said health insurance is a tough sell with young, healthy people except for those who get assistance with the payments. The high users avidly seek such insurance to mitigate soaring medical costs. She stated that 2012 was the window that the GOP had to overturn or repeal Obamacare and it will be very difficult to do so now. She said 60-80% of those who have to buy their own insurance are getting substantial payment increases. She doesn't think employer provided health care is in immediate danger, but sees employee provided health care in jeopardy in the future. She said the amount of scrutiny from HHS or IRS will have to be tight to discourage cheating on employee numbers. She sees the possibility of more doctors not taking certain patients such as the elderly, but predicts also that the elderly will also put pressure on their legislators for relief.
