Laura Ingraham hosted author author of "Dirty Love" Andre Dubus.
Dubus said the impetus for his book was viewing the dissolution of many of his friends' marriages. He feels one needs an authentic curiosity about what one is writing about and that one must invest in describing supportive details. His book consists of several novellas of 70 to 100 pages and that he crafts his stories to the length that the story allows. He thinks a writer must reveal his beliefs via his/her writing. He feels that most of us wake in the morning try to rise and have the best day they can and his stories reflect people's struggles. He is proud of his father and having his name, even as he was raised by a single mother in poverty.
