Laura Ingraham hosted Richard Vedder, Director of the Center for College Affordability and Productivity. .
Vedder said the federal government is more the problem than the solution in regard to student loans. He said colleges see that students can borrow more so they raise tuition. Ingraham pointed out that adults are doing jobs that teens used to do. He stated we are overinvested in higher education, even while there are good odds that a coollege education leads to a better job. He also criticized the prolonged time people receive unemploymnet and disability benefits.
Vedder said the federal government should be out of the business of financing college education via student loans.
