Laura Ingraham hosted Rep. Buck McKeon of the House Armed Services Committee.
McKeon spoke of the chaos in the Obama administration's shifting policy on Syria. He said Susan Rice and John Kerry stated that Russia couldn't be worked with while Obama came out and stated that Russia's plan to oversee Syria's chemical weapon stash. Ingraham said that Obama's re-election team should be brought in to message for him. Both he and Ingraham agreed of their skills, given Obama's unprepared candidacy.
McKeon said a general from the Pentagon said it would take 75,000 troops and billions of dollars to clean up Syria's chemical weapons. He spoke of the cuts that the Pentagon has already made, but adding another $500 billion would degrade our military's readiness. He said the money is fungible and that funds are moved around, taking resources from vital defense functions.
McKeon spoke of the GOP's poor messaging and Ingraham said the Congress job is not to defer to the president, but to abide by their constitutional obligations. McKeon ticked off a number of issues where the GOP was standing up to the president.
