Laura Ingraham hosted Senator John Cornyn of Texas.
Cornyn voted against the Senate immigration bill and said we can't be intimidated by a lawless president and feels the Gang of 8 was. He stated that we can't repeat the failures of the past and that the House is in a better direction. Ingraham disagreed and said that going to conference will be a disaster and is why people are discontent. He shares her concern and Ingraham restated that there should be no conference and that it's a Mafia style deal. She cautioned that if Senator Schumer is buying the House approach, watch out. Cornyn said that we can't give up on Congress doing its job. He feels taht a step by step approach on discreet sub issues. Ingraham warned him about bringing in more foreign workders at any job level as it will depress wages and cost Ameircans jobs. He said if we've educated foreign students, we should try to keep them here to contribute to our economy. Ingraham disparaged Cornyn's favorable comments on Senator McCain whom she deems as working more with Obama than conservatives.
Cornyn said he's against Obamacare but is concerned about defunding may not be the best course, pointing to the last government shutdown as a potential result. He said it's a difference is in tactics, not goals. He said that Speaker Boehner and Majority Leader Cantor have to govern and put forth a budget.
Cornyn was able to get his staff to work with Guatemala to get a baby adopted from that country which Ingraham applauded him for.
