Laura Ingraham hosted Matt Continetti of the Washington Free Beacon.
Continetti said he wasn't invited to the White House St. Patrick's Day party. He and Ingraham agreed that Rand Paul has turned off all sides with his weird immigration policy. Ingraham noted the traps that were set for the GOP on immigration and other issues. Continetti stated that immigration isn't an issue that most people care about except political elites in DC. Ingraham said Paul now seems not to stand out from the crowd and Continetti said that being against amnesty would make a GOP candidate stand out. He added that the GOP would have to promote a more activist government to appeal to Hispanics which would be a contradiction.
Ingraham also cited same sex marriage is another wedge issue that now divides Republicans that used to unite them. Continetti said most GOP voters are not promoting same sex marriage and that the party risks imploding.
Continetti said Obama's trip to Israel is basically a photo-op with nothing of consequence taking place.
Continetti said Obama hasn't had any signficant conversations with conservativessince a dinner early on at George Will's house.
