Laura Ingraham hosted Senator John Cornyn R-Texas.
Cornyn said the sequester has been constructed and manufactured by the Obama administration designed to extract more taxes. Ingraham pointed out that detailed reports the administration has put out for all the states and questioned why thie effort wasn't put forth in the first place to strike a deal.
Cornyn said the sequester will begin as it should and noted the debt and deficit won't be cut but merely slowed. He called on Obama in an op-ed to exert presidential leadership. Ingraham said it will never happen and that the GOP needs to portray what will happen if the debt isn't addressed.
Cornyn and Ingraham discussed IPAB (Individual Payment Advisory Board) that could limit options in patient care under the Affordable Care Act. Cornyn noted that people are upset that their premiums are rising, even as promises were made to reduce costs.
Cornyn said it is a challenging time for the GOP as President Obama is manipulating the bully pulpit.
Cornyn said he expects a primary challenge for the 2014 elections and stated that he is rated the second most conservative senator. He is against illegal immigration and is concerned there is no cogent plan for immigration. He and Ingraham derided secret "Gangs" that are replacing governance.
