Laura Ingraham hosted Representative Tom Rooney of Florida's 17th District.
Rooney said he would rather increase taxes than hollow out our military. He is against tax increases.
Ingraham noted Rooney is a graduate of West Point and Army JAG, but there must be other cuts in the military rather than the troops benefits. Rooney said a trillion in a year will have been asked of the military and that the military will be going back to our readiness of the Carter years. Rooney said the sequester cuts to the Pentagon were a huge mistake.
Rooney said that the goal is tax code reform to improve revenues which would replace the sequester. Ingraham enumerated aspects of the current debt. Rooney said Paul Ryan has a plan and budget which will being to address entitlement reform. He pointed to cuts he has asked for and Ingraham replied they are drops in the bucket and that there are errors made during the Bush years.
