Laura Ingraham hosted Naomi Schaefer Riley.
Riley contrasted children's lives today with that portrayed in "Ramona the Brave" in which the protagonist is much more independent in 1975. She and Ingraham noted how much more dependent children are today and stated that making children independent takes a lot of time and effort to make children independent.
Riley noted that colleges have to put policies in place to deal with helicopter parents. Ingraham said that values get short shrift over academic achievement in schools. Riley pointed to competition among parents to have a child who reflects well and brings kudos to the parents.
