Chicago community organizer Aisha Truss-Miller and the Black Youth Project are petitioning President Obama to come to his hometown to address the rising gun violence. In 2012 more than 500 residents were murdered — 108 of them 19 or younger.
Obama could put the heat on his former chief-of-staff and now Mayor Rahm Emanuel to do something.
They include community organizer Aisha Truss-Miller, who lost her 17-year-old cousin in a senseless shooting last year and is pregnant with her first child. She is teaming up with the Black Youth Project to petition Obama to come to Chicago to address the out-of-control violence.
