Laura Ingraham hosted Senator Chuck Grassley.
Grassley said the House of Representatives will pass immigration measures piece by piece and he wants a determination of the Congress that the border is secure. Ingraham cited the DREAM Act by fiat by the White House and said there seems no e idence that comprehensive immigration reform will help the middle class. He doesn't think pandering to Latinos is the route, but rather to speak of strong family, economic and foreign policy values. He wants to remind members of the mistakes of the past in 1986 where amnesty was passed and there was no border or employer enforcement. He said they didn't anticipate the huge amount of false documents.
Ingraham said it is foolish for the GOP to think that passing comprehsenive immigration will ehlp them in any way.
Grassley said we have in place background checks and that criminals won't comply. He wants attention on mental health and that all states participate in the rules already on the books.
