State Representative Kendell Kroeker of Wyoming with Laura Ingraham

Laura Ingraham hosted Representative Kendell Kroeker of Wyoming.

Kroeker said that Wyoming is proposing laws to keep the federal government out of Wyoming as far as regulating guns in his state.  Ingraham cited Justice Scalia's comments on the Heller decision saying limits could be set on weapons.  Kroeker said perhaps his bill will be used to adjudicate on thie issue and that it has generally been supported in his state.  

Kroeker said hunting isn't mentioned in the Constitution, but that self-defense is and that guns shouldn't be taken from law abiding citizens who are trying to protect themselves.  He said there are about seven guns per family in Wyoming.

Whether your bill for independent gun law for Wyoming passes or not, I applaud you for making it clear to the rest of the nation how we feel about our guns. When a co-worker at lunch today read about your bill, I cheered, “I love Wyoming!”

I was curious how Wyoming would respond to the proposed gun control measures especially since we only recently where allowed to “concealed carry” without a permit. I thought that was a huge statement but your bill makes me proud to live in a state that has the wherewithal to challenge the federal government.

I love this country and what it is founded upon. I served in the military to do my part to preserve the things we enjoy in this great nation that are unheard of in most other countries around the globe.

I am happy to see states stepping up and pushing toward more independence from the Fed. This president has little to lose in pushing his agenda down everybody’s throats since he is no longer concerned with being re-elected. I fear however, this is just the tip if the iceberg.

Thank you for putting our state in the limelight of defiance against Federal control. WA and CO stepped up and made their own laws for legalizing marijuana, why should we not call for a law protecting a right we’ve had for over 200 years?

You will undoubtedly take a lot of ridicule from the Left but hopefully such a bold move will be an example to other states to follow suit.
