Laura Ingraham hosted Senator Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania.
Toomey said that the major economic problem is spending and that the Democrats will continue to spend, regardless. He feels that the debt ceiling is the lever that the GOP can use to pressure Obama and said the downgrading of the US's credit is already happening. He said there should be priorities set that would be covered if there is a government shutdown. Ingraham quoted Newt Gingrich said there are two other measures - sequestration and other bills. He said Obama won't buy into the sequestration but that other spending bills threats would be effective.
