Laura Ingraham hosted Senator Marco Rubio.
Rubio said it's no shock that members of the entertainment industry and liberal elites would criticize the NRA for their defense of the Second Amendment. He doesn't have a problem with President Obama including children in his announcement of his gun violence task force recommendations, but would rather have had it merely making the announcement.
Rubio stated that Obama routinely demonizes his opponents and that the task force's recommendations won't all be effective. He noted that criminals don't follow the law. He thinks the ban on assault weapons is misplaced.
Rubio said he doesn't know what the White House's position is on immigration and Ingraham responded that he is for a fast path to citizenship for illegal immigrants. Rubio replied that we have a borken immigration system and that there should be merit based immigration, border control and a good tracking system. Ingraham said it seems like a bidding war between the Democrats and Republicans and that the Republicans will never win that battle. He enumerated steps that must take place before illegal immigrants are allowed to become citizens. Both he and Ingraham questioned how people who have tried to enter the US legally feel that they are being pushed aside for illegal immigrants.
Rubio said it's a stunning admission that the debt ceiling has to be raised to pay our bills and that we need to control spending before it's too late.
Rubio predicts the Ravens vs. San Francisco for the Super Bowl.
