Laura Ingraham hosted Senator Ted Cruz of Texas.
Cruz said President Obama has drunk the Koolaid and is using children to push his own agenda. He said his gun measures don't work. He said there should be no hesitancy for the GOP on this issue and that it will cost Democrats in the 2014 midterm elections. He thinks the federal government has no right to have a gun registry and Ingraham noted that the medical profession is being asked to report on patients gun ownership.
Cruz said it is the big-brother nanny state. He described the Sunday panelists were Northeast elites who don't own guns since they live in citadals and have private security. He said it will only get worse with Obama's executive orders as it's the only way he'll get his agenda enacted. He intends to lead the charge in Congress to preserve gun rights.
Cruz said it's too early to write the obituary of the Tea Party. He said the movement was centered on citizens disgust over government spending. He noted the three new GOP senators are conservatives. He said the GOP must stand up and lead over the next two years and Ingraham added that Bill O'Reilly stated the GOP has no strong leadership and are getting rolled. Cruz responded that conservatives are right and will prevail. He said there is a new generation of conservative leaders emerging.
