Laura Ingraham hosted John Lott.
Lott said background checks don't cut down on crime as criminals get the guns and law abiding citizens can't defend themselves. He noted that gun violence strongly tends to be in crime infested areas and that none of the mass shootings would have been prevented. He said there would have to be a registration system but that it also doesn't solve crimes either.
Lott said banning high capacity magazines and assault weapons weren't effective when they were banned in the past. He said partial ban is a false safety and that most guns in the US guns are semi-automatics.
