Laura Ingraham hosted Dr. Robert Moss.
Moss agreed with Ingraham that there is much more pressure on children to perform in a wide range of areas and that there are multiple distractions in the environment - and that the medical profession is better at diagnosing ADHD.
Moss said there are the hyperactive group and the inattentive group. The first group has always been relatively easy to diagnose, but the second group has become more prominent in our more highly pressured, high tech age.
Moss said one has to be careful with misdiagnosis - that it isn't just hyperactive children. Moss said diagnosis of younger children has to be done very carefully due to the range in development.
Moss said that if children are diagnosed and treated correctly, the protocols can have a very positive effect. Violence occurs with children that aren't correctly diagnosed.
