Laura Ingraham hosted Byron York of the Washington Examiner.
York said there is serious skepticism of the gang of eight's immigration proposals. It will go to the Judiciary Committee where liberal chair Pat Leahy will "shape" it. Ingraham cited studies that cost taxpayers billions more in benefits versus any taxes that would be paid by immigrants.
York said President Obama will offer a more liberal version where the everyone will be legalized on day one. Ingraham asked how it could be proved when an illegal immigrant came into the US. She said future temporary workers will have a chance at citizenship. York noted this is being done for political reasons and that the GOP think this will garner them more votes. He said a "commission" will be appointed to recommend when the border is secure.
