Laura Ingraham hosted Chuck Todd of NBC News.
Todd said it was a headscratcher to him why the administration hasn't come forth earlier on the whole Benghazi attack. Ingraham asked why there hasn't been an outcry from the White House press corps and Todd said that there hasn't been a presidential press conference for months. Ingraham noted no one is camped out at Susan Rice's house as the press was at Scooter Libby's house in the Valerie Plame case. Todd said a timeline was finally released on the attack thanks to the press corps' pressure. Todd also said that there have been politics on both sides including calling for a hearing when Congress isn't in session.
Todd said there has been a lack of intelligence on this incident and Ingraham said that the British press had many details on this attack and events beforehand. Todd said sometimes the White House responds when the press corps puts pressure on them and sometimes they hunker down. He also pointed to limited resources as far as covering so many areas. Ingraham responded that there were many intel officers that willingly stepped right up with information when called on.
Todd said the media bias is an overused crutch that can be like cying wolf. He agreed with Ingraham that the townhall isn't a great format.
