Mitt and Ann Romney finally met with David Gregory on "Meet The Press" in transit on the campaign trail.
Romney "explained stuff" to David Gregory (to quote President Obama's reference to President Clinton as "Secretary to Explain Stuff). He reiterated his plans not to raise taxes on the middle class or to give special tax breaks to the wealthy. He would not commit to the loopholes he would close in the tax code to lower taxes, saying he would work with the Congress to come up with those (good luck on that one!)
Romney reinforced his message on job creation, criticizing Obama's record given the recent jobs report from the Labor Department Friday.
Romney also seemed open to retaining the more popular elements of the Affordable Care Act such as not penalizing people with pre-existing conditions, allowing adult children to stay on their parents' policies, etc. - all things that are already baked into many insurance policies.
Romney clarified the differences in his Afghan policy from that of President Obama and defended his stance on rolling back the money to be cut from the Pentagon due to the sequestration to make cutbacks in spending. He was very critical of Obama's handling of the Iran nuclear situation.
