GOP VP nominee got grilled on Tuesday by the "Today Show"'s Matt Lauer on claims he made in his speech in Tampa, Florida. Ryan defended his lack of acceptance of the Simpson-Bowles recommendations and offered his own alternative. He also noted that Mitt Romney had made a long speech in front of veterans prior to the convention and thus the reason for a lack of a focus on the Afghan conflict in Tampa.
