Mitt Romney released his 2011 tax returns which he filed Friday. They revealed that the Romney's paid 14.1% in faderal taxes, up slightly from 2010 when he paid 13.9%. The Democrats were not satisfied and declared that Romney didn't take full deductions in order to get his overall tax returns over the past few decades to comport with his public statements of not paying less than 13% in federal taxes.
The Democrats are now outraged because Romney paid MORE taxes than he had to - if he had taken all the charitable deductions he could have, his tax rate would be lower than 13%

Romney made $13.7 million last year and paid $1.94 million in federal income taxes, giving him an effective tax rate of 14.1 percent. That was a bit above the 13.9 percent rate paid on 2010 income.
More precisely, the returns showed that the couple paid $1,935,708 in taxes on income of $13,696,951.
