Laura Ingraham hosted Representative Paul Ryan.
Ryan said his budget gets America back on the path to prosperity. He noted Mitt Romney shared his five point energy plan yesterday. He stated that President Obama's record has been abysmal and has nothing for the media to amplify.
Ingraham asked Ryan why Mitt Romney's likability numbers aren't as high as President Obama's. Ryan said Romney is a kind man with great leadership skills. He thinks Obama wants to make the election into a personality contest which doesn't address the country's big issues and that the Romney-Ryan team aims to address those issues. He commented on Obama's European style policies. Ryan said the poverty and jobless rate among single women, saying they are one of the groups hit hardest in the recssion. He said the American system is the best path to prosperity. He said Obama tries to distract people with small, petty items and to divide people into small subgroups to vie against one another rather than uniting people. He said their budget is specific enough to deal with the nation's needs.
Ryan disagreed with Robert Gibbs point that Obama has kept Medicare going by noting he has raided Medicare for Obamacare and other purposes. Their team aims to guarantee the promise of Medicare.
Ryan said that as a Catholic he recalls President Kennedy being accused of taking orders from the pope which is ludicrous and thus finds such musings on Mormonism ridiculous.
Ryan said his wife is in charge of his wardrobe. He will wear a tie to the convention. He said their team will fight for every vote in each state.
