Ingraham Factors GOP Convention

Laura Ingraham hosted "The O'Reilly Factor" on August 31st.

The "Talking Points Memo" focused on three points from the RNC convention: Romney is ready for the job, he is a real family man and that President Obma's policies have failed.  Ingraham commented that Romney's upstanding life is more admirable than the superficial excitement of a gauzy convention.  Ingraham said Romney needs to go out and make his case to the electorate. 

Ingraham spoke to Margie O'Meara and Marc Thiessen about Romney's speech.  Both said he did a good job.  Thiessen said he needed to connect with the American people where he had a deficit compared to Obama.  O'Meara said she would have liked to have heard more policies that would help the middle class. 

Ingraham talked about Clint Eastwood's much discussed presentation at the RNC convention with Geraldo Rivera.  Ingraham said she loved the Eastwood presentation as being a different note during a button upped convention  Rivera said it was buffonery, was too long and detracted from Romney's speech.  Ingraham and Rivera agreed that the testamonials to Romney were very moving.

Ingraham discussed Romney's efforts to highlight his working relationships with women.  Loretta LePore and Zalina Maxwell.  Maxwell said she's concnerned about Romney's policies she feels don't favor women while LePore felt the campaign very effectively made inroads in highlighting Romney's support for women. Ingraham said the Obama adeinistration's economic record doesn't help anyone, including women.  

Ingraham spoke to University of Virginia Professor Larry Sabato  about the Republicans calling Obama out on playing hte blame game on George W. Bush.  Sabato said the blame game can be overdone and that Bush has kep a low profile which has helped him.  Sabato said Chris Christie was a convention loser because he didn't deliver red meat to the faithful party members.

Ingraham talked to Chris Metzler and Francisco Hernandez about the many high profile minority figures in the GOP that spoke at the convention.  Hernandez pointed to the GOP's policies aren't friendly to minorities while Ingraham said Romney's policies on family and the economy appeal to Hispanics.
