Laura Ingraham hosted Marc Thiessen of the Washington Post.
Thiessen said Obama has a weak hand, but the GOP can't make it easier for him and lose their advantage. He said the GOP should fight him on Obama's claims on jobs and the economy and beat him at his own game. Ingraham said she is concerned that Romney doesn't project the message that he can help people reach their goals. Thiessen said Romney gives the left lots of ammunition and said he should do as Jack Kemp did by going to poor neighborhoods and saying he wants everyone to rise. He said he doesn't know what the Romney campaign is thinking, but says it will be a problem in the general election if they can't pivot. He also said that he has to stop insulting the base. He said bold ideas would excite the base. Ingraham expressed concern about income inequality, but Thiessen said that the more Obama talks, the less people buy into that argument.
