Presidential fundraising reports are due in today and preliminary evidence points to a less than stellar performance by the various GOP candidates - most likely due to the large number of candidates and lack of enthusiasm from the GOP voters.
Mitt Romney raised less than $20 million for the Republican primary.
Tim Pawlenty raised less than $5 million,
Jon Huntsman raised about $4.1 million (some from his fortune)
Ron Paul raised about $4 million and is putting out one of his fables money bombs.
The campaigns are not required to disclose their campaign filings publicly until July 15. At that point, they must tell the Federal Election Commission not only how much they are raising, but how much they are spending, borrowing or lending to themselves. And unofficial figures released by candidates before then do not always capture the full picture of their race for campaign dollars.
