Laura Ingraham hosted
Garth Chouteau, spokesperson for PopCap games
Chouteau said he isn't disturbed by the uptick in video gaming as long as it is in moderation. He said his company's products have been positively received by parents and grandparents who use the games with children. He said that while online games were the province of young males almost exclusively at one time but now women are as involved as men. He said there is no evidence as of yet that video games have caused users to become more violent. He said they are only appropriate for adults. He said that "Grand Theft Auto" encourages anti-social behaviors in every way and is probably unacceptable even for adults.
Chouteau said that the problem with creating educational games is that if one sets out to create a game that is educational, they won't sell if the entertainment element isn't there.
