Laura Ingraham hosted Mark Benjamin of Salon.
Benjamin said he has a different take on the Fort Hood shooter - that Hasan was a doctor and he was the one being allowed to sit down to help the troops with all the red flags in his background. He said Hasan didn't have the kinds of stresses that people in the field do but did have some streeses in a very complex situation. Benjamin said he had weird ideas about Islam but that the psychological elements were present as well. Ingraham said that Benjamin's statement that Hasan was frazzled and this could push him to the massacre. Benjamin said there are many awful things that happen in war that the public doesn't know about that could have tipped him. Ingraham noted that he never used the term "jihad" when interviewed in the media. She noted that no one else in this situation has gone to the point of massacre of fellow soldiers except those who are extremist Islamists.
This guy was a fucktard...some things he said seemed alright, like "Yes he could have been overdosing on meds/etc" but the whole "it was the stresses of hearing war stories that drove him to do it" is just being blind. For anyone that didn't hear it, he was fully stressing that the main reason for the murders was because "hearing war stories were making him stressed".
Really? Kids don't declare jihad in their classrooms because of being stressed out from hearing stories of the boogieman. Fuck, he's sitting in a nice cushy office all day. REAL soldiers are out there experiencing first hand these "stories"...and they don't go nuts and shoot up their fellow countrymen because of the stress. I don't care how terrible a story is...until you experience it yourself firsthand, it's JUST A STORY to you. I'm not sure what kind of a pussy you are, but there's a limit to the stress that can come from hearing a scary story.
Plain and simple, he was talking right out of his ass. Call a spade a spade; the killer wanted to jihad America in the name of Allah, the end.
