Laura Ingraham hosted Matt Latimer, former Bush White House speechwriter author of Speech-less: Tales of a White House Survivor.
Latimer said his book talks about a lot of the things Ingraham talks about on her show and that he is a conservative first and a Republican second. He said he came to Washington as an idealist who hoped to join the next Reagan administration.
Latimer said Bush said Palin was an interesting VP choice but that she wasn't well prepared for the job. He said books like his are helpful for the public to be informed about. He said the CPAC speech had some points about the conservative movement in his speech and Bush told him to take it out - that he represents the Republican Party as his father was treated badly by conservatives, according to Bush. He said at the end of the administration, anyone who disagreed with Bush was persona non grata.
