Laura Ingraham hosted Byron York with a wrap-up of the week in politics (Fridays with Byron).
York noted it was ironic that President Obama had to say that we are at war with terrorists while forbidding the "war on terror" as a term to be used. York and Ingraham noted that Obama delayed his speech so Cheney delayed his, cutting out the fawning mainstream media from glowing over Obama's speech. York said that Obama has equivocated on the terror tool box while claiming the moral high ground. Ingraham said she has asked her Democratic friends how Guantanamo Bay is a mess when it is a state of the art facility. York said that Obama has reversed himself from saying closing Gitmo would be easy during the campaign and both he and Ingraham said that Obama has created the mess and has turned even his own party against his plans. Ingraham quoted FBI Director Mueller who said that the detainees pose a real threat to the general prison population. Ingraham and York noted that all the countries that decried Gitmo don't want the detainees and that the trials have been delayed due to the tactics by detainee lawyers who are now part of the Obama administration.
