Laura Ingraham hosted former US UN Ambassador John Bolton on North Korea firing missiles and testing underground nuclear weapons.
Bolton said that this is something that North Korea has been itching to do and that after all the rhetoric, it will be telling what the world community will do action-wise. Bolton said that previous resolutions passed in 2006 actually has some tough enforcement provisions in 1718 that has maritime interdictions in them.
Ingraham said that with Obama traveling to Russia this summer, this and Iran should be on the agenda as they cooperate on ballistic missile technology. Bolton said that the idea to chitchat is silly and that the nuclear program is a huge asset they could sell to anyone, including terrorists. Bolton said that scientists are trying to test the noble gases from these tests to determine the strength of these weapons. Bolton said that he warned the Bush administration that North Korea won't abide by any agreement they sign and that Secretary of State Rice seemed to convince him otherwise to not come down hard on North Korea.
Ingraham and Bolton noted that China holds key cards with North Korea and the US not only on the economy but on global security and that the Obama administration appears to bow and scrape to the Chinese. Bolton said that he doesn't expect any big action by the US or the UN on this latest event.
