It seems that Western civilization and capitalism have taken some whacks of late - a number of them self-inflicted - and the subprime mortgage mess could be described as a financial infection in its own right with CDSs and CDOs toxicity ravaging responsible people's assets globally and ushering in nationalization that borders on socialism.
The Conficker network worm, whose presence has been seeping into the public's attention as it has invaded global networks is thought to spring loose this week on April Fools Day - thanks to the hacking prowess of Russian teen hackers.
Will this sort of digital infection be one more bruising blow to the capitalist system that has been described on life support and of late maybe getting a floor under it? These youngsters are getting hailed just as the wealth destroyers on Wall Street got praised - with Russian newspapers actually giving them plaudits for sticking it to the West.
