"Obama's blockbuster gift for Brown to reaffirm the 'special relationship': 25 DVDs" from the Daily Mail reports that Prime Minister Gordon Brown got 25 classic movies on DVD - something he could have picked up on his own or ordered online almost anywhere - such as Wal-Mart. This comes on top of Obama sending back a bust of Sir Winston Churchill to Britain that had been lent ot the US after September 11th - and snubbing Mr. Brown as far as having a formal press conference and a get together with the wives and husbands. Mrs. Brown picked out special outfits for the Obama children - while the Obamas got cheesy Helicopter One models for the Brown children from the White House gift shop.

Mr Brown's gifts included an ornamental desk pen holder made from the oak timbers of Victorian anti-slaver HMS Gannet, once named HMS President.
Mr Obama was so delighted he has already put it in pride of place in the Oval Office on the Resolute desk which was carved from timbers of Gannet's sister ship, HMS Resolute.
