"Ingraham Angle": Sarah Palin, Bush Bashing

The "Ingraham Angle" with Laura Ingraham on "The O'Reilly Factor" on Fox News on January 8th focused on Governor Sarah Palin's future with the Republican Party and with the bashing of President Bush as he leaves office.

Ingraham said that Palin is very popular and charismatic, but to be more than a regional candidate, she will need to appeal to intellectuals and others in blue states.  Ingraham and O'Reilly noted that President Reagan was denigrated by the right as a dumb actor, but crafted his message and studied for thirteen years before he ran for president and proved his mettle.

Both Ingraham and O'Reilly said that the mainstream media have almost gotten into a knee jerk type of reaction as far as blaming everything that goes wrong in the world on President Bush.  Ingraham remarked that Joe Klein was off base in stating that it was Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay that cost the GOP the election and his popularity to slump - but rather the problems in prosecuting the war in Iraq and the economic crisis for the general electorate and comprehensive immigration reform and appointments such as his attempt to put Harriet Miers on the Supreme Court.
