    Gerard Baker With Laura Ingraham

Laura Ingraham hosted Gerard Baker of the Wall Street Journal.

Baker said that he will be bringing some fun to the Wall Street Journal with his trademark humor.  Baker questions why it took so long for the Richardson issue to be dealt with.  Baker and Ingraham noted that it is ironic that the Democrats are trying to keep the African-American out of the Congress.  Baker said these incidents indicate that the problems in DC aren't just of one party - and especially the fact that the world has thought that every problem in the world were all George Bush's fault.

Baker said that Obama's silence on Gaza speaks volumes and that the world may be disappointed in his policy, regardless of what they are.  He said his Cabinet appointments have been quite the same as American policy has always been.

Baker and Ingraham said that dealing with Russia, China, etc. won't just be solved by simple "hope and change" nostrums.

Baker predicts local papers will struggle and that people will have to figure out how to make money on the web and that a lot of the old media will crash in the recession - but there will be a growing demand for quality reporting and information.
