"Kennedy hires insider to soothe critics" from Politico reports that Caroline Kennedy, daughter of the late President John F. Kennedy and niece of former NY Senator Robert F. Kennedy, is getting serious about nailing the New York senate seat being vacated by Hillary Clinton as she takes the Secretary of State job in the Obama cabinet. Kennedy, a big PEBO supporter who spurned hometown Hill in favor of Obama, is trying to tamp down critics who - rightfully - are asking questions as to what she has done to earn this - besides being one of Obama's best friends.
How much money will have to be spread around in consultants and other activities to buy this seat? And isn't it time that the citizens in New York, Illinois and Delaware had a say via the ballot box?
UPDATE:
""Friends Say Kennedy Has Long Wanted Public Role" by Media Lady-in-Waiting Anne Kornblut of the Washington Post fiefdom.
The New York Times has stepped up with their supportive article already. And then there is the other fairy tale account, "The Cinderella Kennedy" from New York Magazine.
After a week of coy courtship and low-key feelers, Kennedy began working the phones in earnest Monday — and signed up major Democratic fixer Josh Isay, who has deep connections to New York powerhouses Sen. Charles Schumer, Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the Rev. Al Sharpton.
